that man!
but he's just not the typical knight I have always dreamed of. he holds himself differently. so different that i cant help, help being swept and captivated by it. and i know im captured,..again.
im not supposed to feel so exasperatingly excited about this and about him. but he gives me that breathless feeling, you know that seeming slow movement of everything. but i know its very ephemeral. not long lasting. just for a short while. fading into somewhere i dont know. gee, i am but still a woman, a woman who gets too giddy about romantic gestures, and blown by sunset scenery. thats why i cant help falling for him or something like that. im starting to like him. im getting used to his atypical ungraceful ways. and im starting to give in to the feeling im being pulled into.
but somehow i am resisting, knowing it's something ive never dived into. although somehow, im all out and about to go wherever he wants me to go. there's this friction in me, which says go, and the other says no.
he oh he. and me oh me. i dont want to jeopardize myself by these warm fuzzy and teenage fleeting feelings. that's inadmissible. but he just always distracts me. he makes me smile, angry, and confused. all at the same time. and he wastes my time, knowing i cant prevent my mind from being filled with various thoughts of him.
its a one time only thing-- when you're crushing and being infatuated with somebody.
i am in that very state right now.

Reflections on Taoism
I had this in my mind for quite a long time already. The concept of Taoism and its connection with Christianity. The main reason of which was the TAO TE CHING that I've read, it was written by a Chinese philosopher named Lao Tzu. It mainly speaks about the peace that you get once you just let things happen, without you and your subjective emotions interfering. It has since then captured my interest, since I myself is in the quest for inner peace. Peace that not this world can give. Peace that comes from a profound source. The peace that comes from something divine, from God alone. And this brought me to find a certain link between Christianity and Taoism. But sure there are differences, and the following text is a copy from a forum, by which the topic is somewhat close to what I'm looking for.
"Concerning the Taoist views of the afterlife, there can be various views as it’s not really a matter of doctrine. However, Chuang-Tzu wrote:
“The true men of old did not know what it was to love life or to hate death. They did not rejoice in birth, nor strive to put off dissolution. Unconcerned they came and unconcerned they went. That was all. They did not forget whence it was they had sprung, neither did they seek to inquire their return thither. Cheerfully they accepted life, waiting patiently for their restoration (the end). This is what is called not to lead the heart astray from Tao, and not to supplement the natural by human means. Such a one may be called a true man. Such men are free in mind and calm in demeanor.”
Basically, we are all from Tao, and we return to Tao. The human body is built from the sustenance and DNA provided by the parents. As you grow, your body is built from what you consume. When you die, your body decomposes and eventually returns to the planet from which it came. The life which powers our body is drawn from the body of all energy that surrounds us and it is there it returns.
In essence, life is a cycle that ebbs and flows like the oceans.
We do not profess to understand the entirety of that energy, just as Christians sometimes say “Only God knows” or “we cannot fully understand the will of God” or even “the Lord works in mysterious ways”. We all recognize we are part of a greater whole. We believe we are part of the energy of the Universe, just as Christians believe they are are the children of God.
Certainly there are fundamental differences between Taoism and Christianity and I always tell people to follow their instincts when searching for what is right for them. I agree that the teachings differ in many ways but I also recognize there are similarities.
For me, I don’t find a need to focus on the differences and pointing at one or the other to say “this way is absolutely right and this way is absolutely wrong”. Jesus taught to love each other. Anyone who has read the core Taoist doctrines know that the three great treasures are compassion, moderation and humility. These are very compatible with the teachings of Christ.
Christ didn’t tell anyone to love only those who followed him. We are to love, respect, and just be good to each other. We don’t have to agree with everyone else’s viewpoint, and likewise everyone else doesn’t have to agree with ours.
And just a thought, you will be hard pressed to hear about a Taoist killing anyone because of their beliefs. We don’t shoot doctors because we don’t like abortion, we don’t blow ourselves up in marketplaces because our religion will reward us for killing infidels. We are loving, tolerant, compassionate and try to live with as little conflict as possible. "

Don Miguel Ruiz tells this story about a man who didn't believe in
love. This was an ordinary man just like you or me, but what made this
man special was his way of thinking: He thought love didn't exist.
Of course, he had a lot of experience trying to find love, and he had
observed the people around him. Much of his life had been spent
searching for love, only to find that love didn't exist.
Wherever this man went, he used to tell people that love is nothing but an invention of the poets, an invention of religions just to manipulate the weak mind of humans, to have control over humans, to make them believe. He said that love is not real, and that's why no human could ever find love even though he might look for it.
This man was highly intelligent, and he was very convincing. He read a lot of books, he went to the best universities, and he became a respected scholar. He could stand in any public place, in front of any kind of people, and his logic was very strong. What he said was that love is just like a drug; it makes you very high, but it creates a strong need. You can become highly addicted to love, but what happens when you don't receive your daily dose?
Then one day this man was walking in a park, and there on a bench was a beautiful lady who was crying. When he saw her crying, he felt curiosity. Sitting beside her, he asked if he could help her. He asked why she was crying. You can imagine his surprise when she told him she was crying because love didn't exist. He said, "This is amazing—a woman who believes that love doesn't exist!" Of course, he wanted to know more about her.
"Why do you say love doesn't exist?" he asked.
"Well, it's a long story," she replied. "I married when I was young, with all the love, all the illusions, full of hope that I would share my life with this man. We swore to each other our loyalty, respect, and honor, and we created a family. But soon everything changed. I was the devoted wife who took care of the children and the home. My husband continued to develop his career, and his success and image outside of home was more important to him than our family. He lost respect for me, and I for him. We hurt each other, and at a certain point I discovered that I didn't love him, and he didn't love me."
Understanding the woman very well, the man embraced her and said, "You're right. Love doesn't exist. We look for love, we open our heart and we become vulnerable, just to find selfishness. It doesn't matter how many relationships we have; the same thing happens again and again. Why even search for love any longer?"
They were so much alike, they became the best of friends. It was a wonderful relationship. They respected each other and they never put each other down. With every step they took together, they were happy. There was no envy or jealousy, there was no control, there was no possessiveness. The relationship kept growing and growing. They loved to be together, because when they were together they had a lot of fun. When they were apart, they missed each other.
One day when the man was out of town, he had the weirdest feeling. He was thinking, " Hmm, maybe what I feel for her is love. But this is so different from what I have ever felt before. It's not what the poets say it is, it's not what religions say it is, because I am not responsible for her. I don't take anything from her. I don't have the need for her to take care of me. I don't need to blame her for my difficulties or to take my dramas to her. We have the best time together, we enjoy each other. I respect the way she thinks, the way she feels. Perhaps love does exist, but it isn't necessarily what everyone thinks it is."
If you take your happiness and put it in someone else's hands, sooner or later, they are going to break it. If you give your happiness to someone else, they can always take it away. Then if happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love, you are responsible for your happiness, not someone else. That is the mistake most of us make as we begin to learn about love. We base our happiness on our partner, and it doesn't work that way. Making all these promises that we cannot keep simply sets us up for failure.

soliloquy
i must say that right now my emotions aren't stable. They seem to fluctuate in an alarming pace. The trajectory doesn't seem to have any rhythm at all. One time I'm ecstatic to plunge right in with one particular thing, another time Im oh so lost and scared like a frightened cat. Just thinking of this particular thing makes me so terribly out of my self. It seems weird though that after feeling so excited about it, my emotions revolves 360 degrees, upon realizing the many stumbling blocks that my path is filled of. Suddenly, Im stricken with fear and anxiety. Sometimes, that fear is greater than my will. That's quite inadmissible, knowing that I am a strong lass, and I am not to be intimidated by such thoughts alone.
Why do we allow ourselves to be defeated by our very own minds?
I just have to be faithful and be ever trusting to my dear self. That no matter what happens, I must take the plunge. I must taste it now or never. For in the future I don't want to dwell on regrets of the past.
And that whatever my mind believes, I can always achieve. Its all in the mind. Beautiful is abstract. Success as well.
I need to conquer my self, to keep my mind from generating fear.I must be able to control my mind. To achieve the abstract of beauty and success.
